UK: Sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) remembered

With the mercy of Allah, and the grace of the Beloved Prophet (SAW) Minhaj-ul-Quran International Women League London held a Muharram event. It began with Sehrish Jaffar hosting along with the opening address to all sisters. Then, a young Minhaj-ul-Quran London student Muhammad Hassan recited the Holy Quran. Furthermore, Aneesa Tanveer, on behalf of Muslim Youth League Sisters London, welcomed guests and called Hafiza Amina Hussain for Tilawat and Fatimah Siddiqui for the translation of the blessed words. Sister Amna Ajmal welcomed Arham Shahzad to recite praise upon the beloved Prophet (SAW). Iqra and Khadijah Ali recited a Manqbat: Karbal ki hai yaad aayi bringing tears to the eyes of the sisters.

Sister Zuleha spoke about Ahle Bayt and the reference of them in the Quran. She gave a brief explanation of the importance of Sayyida Fatimah, and Imam Hussain in our contemporary society in the light of Sunnah & Hadith. Mrs Farida Dar (President MWL Beckton) explained the different types of Hadith and their importance.

Bismah Ali from Youth League led the interactive presentation with question & answer session and distribution of gifts. Sister Sehrish Mobeen recited the Naat Hudaya Ishqe Muhammadi in a beautiful and mesmerizing voice.

Sister Khadijah Atkinson in her English speech thanked the MYL-S and MWL for giving her the opportunity to commemorate the life of Imam Hussain. ‘Behind a great man is a great woman’ and the great women in Imam Hussain’s life was his mother. She was the women who moulded the character who allowed 72 members of his family to be martyred rather than accept the tyrannic leadership. She gave a brief account of Sayeda Fatimah’s life and the hardships she endeavoured as a young child quoting Shaykh-ul-Islam’s book ‘Fatima, the great daughter of Muhammad’.

Aneesa Tanveer, Aysha Hussain, Aisha Bukhari, Rabiah Iqbal, and Maryam Mursaleen recited Ishq Ki Inteha Sayyida Fatimah in a melodious voice.

Rukhsana Sarfraz (President Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League London) delivered a well-structured and effective Urdu speech beginning with why we are in a masjid to do Zikr of Imam Hussain. She narrated the importance of the Ahlul Bayt and why we praise them. She emphasised the importance of knowledge in our contemporary society and the importance of the correct knowledge. She invited all sisters’ attending and their families to join the fight against the Yazid’s in today’s society. The falsehood spread by the Khawarijs which is corrupting the minds of our children needs to be united against not as one but as groups together. The mothers need to model themselves on Hazrat Fatimah’s life and teachings and take lessons from the character if they want to stop their children accepting the demands of the tyrants of this time. Therefore, come join Minhaj-ul-Quran where we have already begun an ideological war against the terrorists. In the end she thanked the co-ordinators Asia Ghulam Nabi, Hajra Shazad and Asra for organising such a well-structured program.
