Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri for use of social media to spread enlightenment

Addressing the ceremony of Irfan-ul-Hidaya project under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League here at the central secretariat yesterday, Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri has said that Minhaj-ul-Quran (MQI) is spreading the message of Islam based on peace, tolerance, and respect of humanity in the world. He said that the students should not only defend Islam and ideology of Pakistan against all manner of attacks on the social media but also play their religious and national role in promoting the teachings of Islam.

MWL leaders Ms. Farah Naz, Ms. Afnan Babar, Ms. Ayesha Mubashar, and Ms. Zainab Arsahd also gave talks in connection with Irfan-ul-Hidaya project on the occasion. They threw light on the broad aims and objectives of initiating the Al-Hidaya project and stated that MWL has made a plan to hold Irfan-ul-Hidaya camps across all the districts during the holy month of Ramazan. They said that topics related to basic beliefs, tolerance and peacefulness will be discussed in these sessions. They said that the arrangements have been completed for the conduct of this countrywide project of understanding the holy Quran.

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that this project of imparting the Quranic lessons to women has been undertaken in line with the directions of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. He said that everyone irrespective of caste, creed and colour is duty bound morally and religiously to play one’s part for the spread of the teachings of Islam. He said that we should rise to the challenge in the discharge of our responsibility towards of our society in an endeavor to make it more tolerant and peaceful. He said that nothing is a greater source of enlightenment than the Holy Quran for the guidance of the humanity, adding that the power of social media should be leveraged optimally for a larger cause of spreading enlightenment and knowledge in the society. He said that misguided elements are spreading confusion and misinformation about Islam, adding that they need to be taken on in the realm of social media and online forums. He congratulated the Women League on launching Irfan-ul-Hidaya course in the country and prayed to Allah Almighty to accept his humble endeavor.
