Some days ago an individual gave some blasphemous comments about Sayyidina Ali (AS) on a tv channel. In response to this, Shaykh ul Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri delivered two lectures of 11 hour duration. He gave very sound arguments and strongly condemned such approach about the most dignified personalities of the Ummah.

Chairman Senate Muhammad Mian Soomro paid a cordial visit to the founder and Patron in chief MQI & Chairman Pakistan Awami Tehreek Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri at the latter�s residence on 26 June 2008, and discussed matters of mutual interests. The meeting continued for over an hour. The Chairman Senate felicitated him on the marriage of Sahibzada Hussain Mohi ud Din and extended his congratulations and good wishes.

The Walima function of Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, son of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, was held in the Minhaj University Township on June 28, 2008. Prime Minister of Pakistan, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. The function was attended by a large number of people from diverse walks of life including prominent religious scholars, actors, politicians, technocrats, lawyers, and doctors etc. Separate arrangements were made for women in the Minhaj Girls College.

By the grace of Almighty Allah and his beloved Messenger (saw) Minhaj ul Quran International Glasgow successfully held their fourth session of Halq-e-Irfan-ul-Quran on Friday 13th of June in which there was an audience of over 60 people. After learning about the importance of the understanding of the Holy Quran and the difference between other commentaries.

First floor of residential block of Gosha-e-Durood completed

The roof of first floor of building in the residential block of Minara-tus-Salam has been completed. The construction of the building being built up beside the central sale centre has been continuing for the last three months. The construction was started with building of the basement in the residential block for the residents of Gosha-e-Durood. Now it has been completed.

Irfan-ul-Quran Center is an educational & training center for women. Here, women are educated on both spiritual & moral basis and they are given awareness about the knowledge of Sharia. They are also taught Tajweed, Quran, Hadith, Fiqh & Arabic Grammar as well. To make them practical, training workshops are arranged, once is a week, in the conference Hall at the central secretariat.

A prestigious ceremony marking the 19th Foundation Day of Pakistan Awami Tehreek was held in the Danish Hall of the party Secretariat on May 19 with its central President Miskin Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani in the chair. Directorate of Dawat has started Irfan-ul-Quran Course in Lahore Cant on May 5, 2008. Senior Naib Nazim of Directorate of Dawat, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed Raza Baghdadi, is the teacher and convener of the course. About 300 people, both male and female, are participating in this course, which is being organized in the Musftafa Library Hall in Lahore Cant. The daily classes start at 5 pm and continue till 7 pm.

Directorate of Training organized a one day long training camp of the different sub-branches of Minhaj-ul-Quran in Minhaj Islamic Centre Saeela in Jehlum on May 4, 2008. The camp was attended by more than 50 Tehseli officer-holders from Jehlum, Deena, Pind Dadan Khan and Saray Alamgir. Addressing the participants of the camp, Nazim Training, Prof Muhammad Salim Ahmad, said that a strong organization network was dire need of the hour and the Directorate of Training was busy in the task at spiritual, moral, intellectual, ideological, administrative and organizational levels.

A splendid Irfan-ul-Quran Conference was held on May 10, 2008 in the Government City High School under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Haveli Lakha, District Okara. This conference was organized in connection with the successful completion of Irfan-ul-Quran Course. Central Nazim Training Allama Muhammad Idrees Rana presided over the conference, whereas Syed Muhammad Munwar Ali Kazmi was the guest of honour at the occasion.

Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League organized a grand reception on April 25 in order to celebrate the successful holding of the Milad Festival in the Race Course Park under its banner. This programme was arranged in the conference hall of the Central Secretariat. The daughter of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Mrs Qura tul Ain Fatima, presided over the moot, while naib Nazim-e-Ala of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Director Foreign Affairs G.M. Malik, Amir-e-Tehreek Punjab Ahmad Nawaz Anjum and Director FMRi Dr Ali Akbar Qadri were the guests of honour at the occasion.

Children's 'Mother Day Walk' under Minhaj Youth League

On May 11, 2008 Minhaj Youth League organized a walk of children in front of the Lahore Press Club in order to mark International Mother Day. The walk started at 4 p.m. in which children from across different schools of Lahore participated. The children collectively led the walk and took a round of the Lahore Press Club. They were bearing a huge banner on which was written: "Saluting you, dear Mother".

On the 22nd March 2008 the Annual Milad-un-Nabi Women's Event was organized under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran Halifax to celebrate the birthday of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him and his family). The Event was organised by the Minhaj-ul-Quran Halifax Women's League and Youth League. Approximately 500 women attended the event and celebrated our Beloved Prophet's (peace and blessing be upon him and his family) blessed birthday. The event was held at the Raven Street Community centre, Halifax.

Durind the event, Muhammad Javid Akhtar, In-charge of the Minhaj-ul-Quran Educational Project, presented an update on the progress made on behalf of Minhaj-ul-Quran Halifax to Allama Idrees Sahib, and mentioned that we are very lucky to have had a visit from Shaykh-ul-Islam in 1990 which was the starting point of Shaykh-ul-Islam's tour of the UK, during this tour Shaykh-ul-Islam also opened the very first Minhaj-ul-Quran Library in Halifax at this residence.

Nazim-a-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Dr Jamil-ur-Rehman, Rana Muhammad Idrees, Allama Mukhtar Hussain Saddiqui, Allama Gul Ahmad Ateeqi, Pir Ghulam Hussain Shah, Qamar Tariq, Haji Imdadullah Khan, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, Mufti Tabish Qasuri, Allama Mir Asif Akber, Hafiz Muhammad Akber, Allama Muhammad Mumtaz were among the prominent guests at the occasion.

The Milaad Festival 2008 was organized by Al Hidayah NL, which is the local branch of the youth of Minhaj-ul-Quran Holland. A regular group of members gather on a weekly basis to study Irfan-ul-Quran and Minhaj-us-Sawiyy. Every once in a while, Shaykh Ramadan al-Qadri and Shaykh Sohail Siddiqui are invited to come over from UK and deliver their lectures and tarbiyyah.

Milad Festival organized under aegis of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League came to an end. The concluding ceremony was held in the crowds of families on the last day on April 20, 2008 at midnight in the Race Course Park. Prior to this, hundreds of people continued to flock the venue on the last day along with their families including prominent people from different walks of life.
