Mawlid-un-Nabi (S.A.W) 2011 in Halifax

The annual Mawlid-un-Nabi (S.A.W) event is a heart-warming gathering organised every year jointly by MYL-Sisters Halifax and Minhaj-ul-Quran Women’s League Halifax to celebrate the Blessed birth of our Beloved Prophet (peace be upon him). On the 13th February 2011, MYL Sisters Halifax and Minhaj-ul-Quran Women’s League Halifax organized a beautiful Mawlid-un-Nabi (S.A.W) conference for youth and women. The gathering attracted approximately 600 people. The proceedings of the programme commenced with Tilawat-e-Quran and Hamd Shareef followed by Urdu and English Nasheeds recited by sisters from MYL-S Halifax, Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League and the young children who attend the Minhaj-ul-Quran Education Project in Halifax.

Guest Speaker, Sister Faiza Qadri (London) then took the stage to deliver a beautiful talk in Urdu about the blessed appearance of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his Family). After sister Faiza’s talk, Sister Tahira, sister Tanya, sister Maaria and sister Taiba, all of whom are part of the MYL-S Halifax team, delivered a joint English talk about how to change ourselves for the better in the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awal. They talked about how the majority of youth nowadays are doing things which are leading them towards sin; they urged that the young to direct themselves towards gaining the love of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). One of the sisters then shared her own experience of change and how Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and Minhaj-ul-Quran International had helped in changing her life and helped her realise that she needs to gain the love of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). After this more nasheeds were recited followed by dhikr and salat-o-salaam, ending with a collective dua by sister Faiza Qadri. Food was served thereafter. It was a truly blessed event. stalls of Shaykh-ul-Islam’s books and DVDs were also present for people to purchase literature and DVDs on the day.
