‘Benefits of Ramadan’ programme held under MWL (Sandwell)

On 5th of July, Minhaj Women League (Sandwell) organised a gathering at the local mosque. The sisters called the programme 'Benefits of Ramadan‎' because we have entered the holy month of Ramadan and were also teaching from this book written by Shaykh-Ul-Islam Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri in Urdu. On the day our stage secretary was sister Shamila and Sister Nabila Bibi. We commenced with Tilawat which was recited by sister Aishah. Nasheeds were recited by a couple of the attendees.

Sister Sadia of Sandwell Minhaj Women League was then introduced who gave a beautiful speech relating to the month of Ramadan from Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri's book 'Roza aur itikaf'. The first chapter in this book informs us of where the name Ramadan came from and the second chapter relates to questions and answers relating to Ramadan, for example reasons which make you exempt from fasting etc.

It was followed by a quiz which took place after we had played Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s recorded lecture called 'Zakaat ki Ahmeyat' (Importance of Dhiker). The participants, who listened attentively and gave the right answers, received DVDs as prize.

A few more attendees recited Nasheeds then sister Shamaila Ali also took part by giving a talk about the importance of having a connection with the best of creation, the beloved Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم‎ and reciting Salutations (Durood shareef) on the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم‎ in abundance. This gathering brought in at least 30 ladies from the local area. We finished with prayers and sweets were distributed to the children who attended.
