Online Itikaf 2020: Dr Ghazala Hassan Qadri delivers lecture on topic of 'Repentance'

Dr. Ghazala Hassan Qadri, President MWL International, delivered a lecture at the joint session of 'Online Itikaf 2020' organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League Pakistan and Europe. MWL has organized a 10-day Itikaf in Pakistan and 3 days Itikaf in Europe exclusively for women which includes a day-long schedule of tarbiyah and other spiritual retreat sessions for Mutakifat.

Dr. Ghazala delivered her talk on the topic of "Repentance" especially in these special days of spiritual seclusions. She beautifully explained the purpose of repentance and what actually constitutes it. Women Mutakifat from across Pakistan and Europe attended the session.

While delivering her talk, Dr Ghazala emphasized taking a look at our spiritual state which has been darkened with the shadows of this materialistic worldly desires. We have lost our connection with Allah Almighty due to our overdependence upon worldly matters. This month of Ramadan is a great blessing through which Allah Almighty has given us an opportunity to reconnect our souls with Him.

While stating this point, Dr. Ghazala quoted Hadith from Sahih al-Bukhari that Allah Almighty erases all the sins of a person when he or she truly offers repentance before Him during this month. So, we all must avail ourselves of this opportunity bestowed upon us in the form of this holy month of Ramadan.

Dr Ghazala Hassan Qadri explained the necessary principles for "Repentance" and quoted four principles from Surah Al-Nisa that firstly who is sincere in his intention to seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty must mend the ways of life which she mentioned as "Islah". Once a person has done that, the second principle is steadfastness in that or "Istiqamat" in that spiritual state which will be achieved through 'Islah'. The third principle is to remain stick to what Allah Almighty says and instructs us by holding on to the teachings which Islam has given us. Fourth, she mentioned is to devote our lives and whole being in complete subservience to Allah Almighty.

Dr Ghazala's talk touched upon an important and beautiful subject that can transform our ways of living and our relation with Allah Almighty in true sense. She was pleased with this initiative of the Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League through which thousands of women have been given the opportunity to seclude themselves by staying in homes and learning different subjects of spiritual development through online tarbiyah sessions scheduled for Mutakifat on daily basis.
