Australia: On the second day of Al-Hidayah Australia 2026, Mrs. Fizzah Hussain Qadri delivered a thought-provoking and inspiring address on the critical subject of protecting the faith and identity of the next generation. Addressing families, parents, and young participants, she highlighted the challenges confronting Muslim children in the modern age and emphasised the vital role of parents, educators, and the wider Muslim community in nurturing a generation firmly rooted in Islamic values.

Speaking on the foundations of child development, Mrs. Fizzah Hussain Qadri explained that a child's tarbiyah (upbringing) does not begin after birth but even before the child is born. She stressed that parents must prepare themselves spiritually, morally, and intellectually, as the values they embody become the foundation upon which their children's faith and character are built.

She expressed concern over the growing influence of social media, observing that many children and young people today are taking social media influencers as their role models, while their primary source of guidance is increasingly becoming digital platforms rather than their homes, mosques, or centres of Islamic learning. She warned that unrestricted and uncritical exposure to social media is gradually eroding good manners, respect, and Islamic ethics among the younger generation.

Mrs. Fizzah Hussain Qadri reminded the audience that the true role models for every Muslim are the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and the pious Awliya (friends of Allah). She encouraged parents to introduce their children to these noble personalities from an early age so that they develop a strong Islamic identity and moral compass capable of withstanding the challenges of contemporary society.

Highlighting the importance of collective efforts, she said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has revived the profound Islamic concept of Jamā‘ah (collective organisation and community), connecting Muslims around the world through the mission of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. She noted that one of the organisation's central objectives is to safeguard the faith of Muslims, strengthen the spiritual and intellectual development of its members, and ensure that future generations remain firmly attached to the teachings of Islam.

Concluding her address, Mrs. Fizzah Hussain Qadri urged parents to take an active role in their children's Islamic upbringing by creating faith-centred homes, strengthening their connection with the Qur'an and the Sunnah, and providing them with righteous role models and positive environments. She emphasised that protecting the faith of the next generation is not only a parental responsibility but a collective obligation of the entire Muslim community.
