Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League organizes seminar

Presided over by central Amir-e-Tehreek Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League organized a seminar under the title of “Islam and Women Rights” in the Danish Hall of central secretariat of MQI. Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Nazim-e-Ala of MQI, was the chief guest at the occasion. Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani said in his speech that Islam gave uncountable rights to women, which can be gauged from the fact that paradise lies under the feet of mother. The Holy Prophet (saw) elevated the social and sociological status of woman.

Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi said in his address that no other religion of the world can be a match to Islam so far as conferment of rights to women is concerned. He said it was also the responsibility of Muslim woman that she undertakes good training of her children and such a generation is produced which is ready to rise above themselves for larger humanitarian causes.

Central Nazima Sumaria Rafqat said that Islam acknowledged the social, religious, constitutional, legal, political and administrative rights of women from its inception. It has also given them guaranteed protection. She said Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was the torch-bearer of rights of woman. Razia Shaheen said people of Arab used to bury their women alive in pre-Islamic period. But Islam not only condemned such evil practices but also eliminated them. Islamic teachings provide protection to woman in every respect.

Concluding the programme, Ms Ayesha Shabbir said Islam blessed woman with sanctity and respect. It is due to great status given to women by Islam that Hazrat Aesha Saiddiqa (ra), Hazrat Fatima (ra) and Hazrat Zainab (ra) are the powerful role models for the Muslim women.
