Chairman of MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri has said that speech is reflective of people’s conduct, habits, ways of thinking and character. He said that it is through dialogue that one can form an opinion about the personality of others. He said that speaking, writing, listening and hearing are the basic forms of communication through which we establish our contact with the world around us.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri expressed these views while addressing a meeting of the Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League. He said that effective communication can take place only when we have the ability to communicate our point of view and understand what others have to say. He said that talking to the people was more important than talking at them, for the latter denotes one-way communication. He said that empathy holds a special importance in the establishment of rapport between the leaders and the people. He said that dialogue is all about listening to others through engagement and is an essential condition for reaching an agreed-upon position.
Chairman Supreme Council congratulated the directors of the different department of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League for successfully conducting Al-Tarbiyah camp. He also appreciated the MWL office holders for their consistent efforts in holding the workshops with reference to the Centers of Knowledge.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri highlighted the importance of listening and said that it is through speaking that one’s strengths and weaknesses are displayed. He said that our efforts should be directed at achieving the collective goals instead of focusing on the individual targets. He said that the identity of people is how they speak and express their opinions about a range of issues. He said that a good conversation should reflect clarity of mind, and be understandable to the target audience. He said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) would speak softly and in a measured manner so that the people could easily and clearly understand him. He said that the beauty of conversation lies in how comfortably, easily and clearly one expresses oneself.
The meeting was attended by Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Dr Farah Naz, Sidra Karamat, Anila Ilyas, Umme Habiba Ismail, Ayesha Mobashar, Lubna Mushtaq and the office-holders and the workers of the zonal chapters.
