Senior leader of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League, Lubna Mushtaq, stated that on the occasion of International Mother’s Day, we must especially pay tribute to those great mothers who sacrificed their sons for the protection of our beloved homeland. She said that their patience, resilience, and sacrifice cannot be expressed in words.
"The mothers of martyrs are noble figures who offered their beloved sons for the country and set new standards of endurance and courage in history. Such noble mothers are not only brave but also teach society the values of strength, patience, and sacrifice," she said.
She said that these great mothers raised sons who stood firm against enemy aggression and laid down their lives to protect the sanctity of the homeland. Today is not just a day to celebrate love and motherhood, but also a day to renew our pledge — to wipe the tears of martyrs’ mothers, to salute their courage, and to feel the pain that echoes in their voices. Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League offers a heartfelt salute on behalf of the entire nation to the dignity and sacrifice of these mothers and expresses solidarity with them. These mothers are like beacons of light from whom we learn the spirit of sacrifice, selflessness, and patriotism.
Lubna Mushtaq emphasized that a mother is not just a relationship but a great institution — a training center and the first school of humanity. A mother’s love, sacrifice, and selfless service cannot be confined to a single day; she deserves respect every day and every moment. She highlighted that Islam has exalted the status of the mother by placing paradise beneath her feet, and the Qur'an repeatedly instructs kindness towards parents, especially mothers. The Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ gave the mother’s rights three times more importance than the father’s, teaching the world that the mother’s rank is unparalleled.
Lubna Mushtaq noted that in the modern era, due to societal changes and the breakdown of the family system, mothers face loneliness, economic pressure, and neglect — a deeply regrettable trend. As a nation, we must prioritize the dignity, comfort, and happiness of mothers. She affirmed that Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League is committed to strengthening the family system and is actively working for women’s education, training, and welfare. She concluded by saying that a mother not only raises her children but shapes an entire generation. A good mother lays the foundation for a civilized, moral, and responsible society. We must make serving our mothers the purpose of our lives.
The MWL leader said that the international day is not just an occasion for celebration, but a moment to renew our commitment — to recognize the status of mothers, respect them, and seek their prayers. Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League extends heartfelt love and salutes to all mothers.
