A balanced society cannot be built without the education and development of women
A mother not only nurtures but also builds character: Head Coordination Council, MWL
Addressing a special intellectual session organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League on Mother's Day

On the occasion of Mother's Day, Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League (MWL) organized a special intellectual session at its Central Secretariat. Addressing the gathering, Lubna Mushtaq, Head of the Coordination Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League, said that a mother's lap is a child's first school and that mothers play a fundamental role in nurturing a righteous, capable, and morally upright generation.
She stated that strong societies are built upon the foundation of educated, well-trained, and conscious mothers. Referring to Islamic teachings, she said that Islam has accorded mothers an exceptionally high status and honor, emphasizing their significance by declaring Paradise to lie beneath their feet.
Lubna Mushtaq noted that a mother does not merely provide physical care and upbringing; she also shapes her children's personality, character, thinking, and moral values. Therefore, mothers bear a crucial responsibility in the intellectual, ethical, and spiritual development of society.
She further said that in light of the growing intellectual and social challenges of the modern era, the responsibilities of mothers have become even greater. Introducing the younger generation to religious values, ethics, respect for humanity, and positive social norms is an urgent need of the time so that young people can be protected from moral decline and negative influences.
Highlighting the importance of women's education, she said that an educated, aware, and morally upright mother positively impacts not only her family but society as a whole. She emphasized that the vision of a balanced, peaceful, and progressive society cannot be realized without the education, training, and empowerment of women.
Lubna Mushtaq remarked that Mother's Day should not be viewed merely as a ceremonial occasion; rather, it is an opportunity to acknowledge and honor the love, sacrifices, and invaluable role of mothers. She urged people to make respect, service, and prayers for their mothers a permanent part of their lives.
She also stated that Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League is actively contributing to the religious, intellectual, and moral development of women. Through various training programs, intellectual forums, and reformative activities, the organization is promoting awareness, positive thinking, and family values among women.
Addressing parents, particularly mothers, she urged them to spend quality time with their children, pay special attention to their intellectual and moral upbringing, and foster a religious and ethical environment within their homes in order to help build a healthy, civilized, and dignified society.
The session was attended by leaders and members of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League, who paid tribute to the invaluable role of mothers and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting positive values, respect for parents, and moral education within society.
Among those present were Ayesha Mubashir, Hafiza Sehar Amberin, Sana Waheed, Anila Ilyas, Noreen Alvi, Rabia Shafiq, and others.
